Malcolm’s Backbone brought him to his career in insurance when he suffered a devastating injury to his back after a motorcycle accident. Sadly he did not have insurance. Not one to take things lying down Malcolm took up an offer from a friend to work in insurance, since his life as a manual labourer was off limits. Insurance helped Malcolm bounce back financially from his accident and he has never looked back.

It’s the people that Malcolm enjoys the most about his work. He likes to work with industries that are the backbone of the New Zealand economy, the hard workers, the entrepreneurs and the farmers.

There’s nothing Malcolm enjoys more about his work than having a cup of tea and a chat at his customers places of work or their homes – basically wherever you do business- he’s mobile and will happily stand in the milking shed beside you if that’s what it takes.

In his spare time Malcolm is a happy family guy who still loves getting out on the motorbike (he’s insured), or the slower wheels of his road bike. He’s also a volunteer fire fighter, and a recreational fisherman and photographer. He enjoys the quiet life on his semi rural lifestyle block.

Malcolm is a regular kiwi bloke who feels that honesty and integrity are two things that are essential in life.
